TIL Suite – Simulates Thermal Systems.
The software package TIL Suite contains libraries for steady state and transient simulation of thermodynamic systems. The individual models of these libraries have been implemented in the modeling language Modelica.
They can also be provided for other programs or as exported C-Code and as FMU, respectively. TIL Suite is the result of years of experience and cooperation between TLK-Thermo GmbH and the Institut für Thermodynamik (IfT) at the Technische Universität Braunschweig.
TIL Suite consist of the following components:
- TIL - model library for components of thermal systems
- TILMedia - model library providing thermo-physical properties
- TILFileReader - Imports tabular data from files
In addition, add-on libraries exist, containing models of particular topic areas (e.g. thermal and electric). Furthermore auxiliary tools are available that assist the user in the simulation and analysis.
TIL - model library for components of thermal systems
The modeling library TIL is based on a flat, object-oriented structure, whereby the structure of the simulated model is always visible. The user can add new models by the principle of object-oriented inheritance or extend existing models. In this manner even complex thermodynamic components remain easily understandable and adaptable. TIL may inter alia be used to model the following systems:
- cooling circuits
- heat pumps
- ejector refrigeration cycles
- hydraulic systems
- Rankine-cycle processes
- heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems
In addition, systems modelled with TIL can be integrated into other programs using our middleware TISC. Thereby Modelica models can be fully embedded for example into Simulink and LabVIEW.
TILMedia - model library providing thermo-physical properties
TIL uses TILMedia Suite for the efficient calculation of thermo-physical properties of media. TILMedia on the one hand applies own implementations, some of them real-time capable, on the other hand interfaces to established material data libraries, such as REFPROP.
TILFileReader - Imports tabular data from files
TILFileReader provides routines to read tabular data (csv files and Dymola result files, others are
available on request) which can be easily integrated into the simulation model. In this way, for example, the simulation can be very easily compared and validated with measured data. The implementation avoids state events; furthermore different interpolation methods are used.
